London: Pakistan Press Club UK (PPCUK) is the only Pakistani journalists platform in the UK which holds elections every year for its executive members. Since we are living in a democratic country this norm makes us proud to declare that we belong to this platform. Speakers expressed these views at a reception held in south London in honour of the newly elected office bearers of Pakistan Press Club UK 2019.
Community leader Chaudhry Akhter hosted this reception. Newly elected President of the press club chaired the event. Mr Mobeen Chaudhry stated that Pakistan Press Club UK is the only journalist organization in UK who have the courage to hold elections every year, to choose their executive board for a year. An independent election commission has always been announced prior to these elections and the press club publicly announce all the details.
Former President PPCUK Arshad Rachyal hailed the democratic traditions of the press club. He further stated that members from all over the country take part in these elections and exercise their right to vote for the right candidate.
Akhter Chaudhry congratulated all the newly elected candidates and hoped that they will carry on the democratic values of Pakistan Press Club UK forward.
Naveed Choudhary, Secretary General who was elected, thanked the host and assured that PPCUK will continue to serve its community as well as fellow members of the press club.
