Rich Tributes paid to Queen by Pakistan Press Club UK (Midlands Chapter)

Birmingham: Pakistan Press Club UK (PPCUK) Midland chapter, held its meeting in Birmingham on the 20th September 2022. The meeting was overseen by the president Mr Rabnawaz  Chughtai. Due to the official absence of the general secretary Abid Kazmi, the full meeting was conducted by acting general secretary Arfan Tahir. The meeting began with recitation of the holy Quran by a new member of Pakistan Press Club UK Midlands chapter, Mr Farakh Hussain.

A one-minute silence was observed for the late HRM Queen Elizabeth II and condolences and tributes were made by the PPCUK Midland members for the UKs longest serving monarch. The President of the PPCUK Midland chapter Rabnawaz Chughtai stated that HRM Queen Elizabeth II was a shining personality not just for the United Kingdom but for the entire world, and served Britain for 70 years with her wisdom and inspiration.

Members that were present included:  Information Secretary Arfan Tahir, Secretary Treasurer Asim Shareef Lone , Executive member Sajid Yousaf, Executive member Sarfraz Mousa, Additional Secretary General Israr Ali,  Executive Member Wajid Bashir, new member Shazad Iqbal & new member Farakh Hussain.

The meetings main focus was based around new membership and scrutiny. A code of conduct to be made for the Midland Chapter with appointments of new members. A decision was made by members to have a £10 fee payable by each member towards administration costs. Every member present expressed their views on how to further enhance the club, and what activities need to be carried out for the betterment of the press club and how best to be engaging with the Pakistani community. There were suggestions to hold the PPCUK Midland Oath Ceremony in October 2022.
