London: The Oath Taking Ceremony of Pakistan Press Club UK Executive Committee was held at the Royal Nawab in London. The oath taking ceremony has become a vital symbol of upholding peace, justice, fairness and is seen as a crucial process in maintaining the integrity of the board, who solemnly declare that they will uphold values and standards in line with their public duties.
President of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists, Afzal Butt also took the oath. A large number of journalists and community leaders from British Pakistani Diaspora are invited, to attend this annual event of PPCUK to ensure that the fabric of mutual trust and understanding is maintained.
Pakistan Press Club UK, President Arshad Rachyal addressed the group and highlighted his forward strategy, he stressed the need for journalists to remain impartial, unbiased and report on breaking news in a non discriminatory manner, where journalism is not seen to be favouring one group or individuals over others. He stated that we need to respect and observe Pakistan’s democratic rights and judicial system and report objectively. During discussions and feedback, it was decided that the work of PPCUK would perhaps benefit by having committees that can support its work. After much deliberation, a committee named, Friends of PPCUK was formed.
